More Monkeys

I've knit Monkeys before but they were for someone else. I really like the pattern but am trying the No Purl Monkeys this time around. I'm using Dream In Color Starry yarn:

The colorway is Happy Forest and I really love the subtle changes in green with the flecks of silver.

I'm about halfway through with the gusset on the first sock:

I love this color so much that I'm thinking about using it to make a Pembroke vest out of it for the wee one on the way. I love how that center cable splits for the V up the neck.

In non-knitting news, I found a great Snickerdoodle recipe by Martha Stewart. Snickerdoodles aren't my favorite cookie but I had all of the ingredients on hand for these so I thought I'd try them out. Yum! Half of the batch will go over to my friend Ellen, who celebrates a birthday today.

I think Monkey must work with almost EVERY sock yarn. I've never seen an ugly Monkey. I love the green with the silver flecks. Very festive.

Yum ....snickerdoodles. I LOVE them fresh from the oven. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm...cinnamony wonderful.

Hi Paige - thanks for stopping by the new blog! I've been teaching mostly socks at KP, but some lace, and am starting a sweater class next week.

Love your Monkeys! I think I'm going to go no-purl next time I make them too.

Would love to see you soon - I haven't made it out to Mayberry's since before t-giving myself, but hopefully soon. And congrats on your pregnancy!!!
