Asheville trip and knitting

Mr. Starfish and I went for our first overnight sans children last weekend. Yes, our older child is going to be seven this year. Yes, I'm slightly embarrassed to say that I've been too nervous to leave them over night. But I digress. One of our favorite close-by places to visit is Asheville, NC. We got engaged there, went on a "we're pregnant let's celebrate!" trip there, lots of good memories. We went to the yummiest place for breakfast on Sunday morning (Early Girl Eatery) and saw a yarn shop right next door!

They didn't open for several hours since it was a Sunday and we were getting on the road but I have it mentally bookmarked for next trip. I did find a quilt shop that was open and got a half yard of a Terrain print we didn't get here in town.

I got a little bit of work done on Baby Starfish's zippered cardigan. I love the colorway. 2 year olds can get away with wearing wild colorways like this:

It should be finished this week!

Dee:

I love that colorway.

Congrats on the night away. We're doing one of those this week.

Of course, we don't have to worry about kid car since our "kid" will be 29 very soon. LOL

I love Purls! Did you get to go to any of the quilt stores? There is a new one not far from Purls.

Asheville is one of the places I've been meaning to get to! I don't blame you for not wanting to leave your little ones overnight. I'm the same way! BTW, are you in NC?
That's going to be a cute cardigan!

So glad you got to get away. My daughter is 6 and I think we've been away on an overnight getaway twice. It's hard to leave her and hard to impose on friends when you don't have family that lives close by. I'm hoping to get away to Ashville when we go visit my family in TN this summer though.

I don't knit but I love the colors in the cardigan you're making!
