Paper Starfish

Long time readers of this blog may remember that about a year ago, I started in a traveling quilt project called Drunkard's Medallion. You can read about it HERE. Well, my little top has made the rounds across international waters and back home to me. And. It. Is. Amazing.

The ladies in this group went above and beyond to keep to my vague theme and wishes while still making their borders their own. I am in love with it. I added the last little border myself so it would come full circle and I can't wait for quilting and binding.

I made this as a piece to be auctioned at my school's annual event to raise money for our artist in residence program. It's called Community Creates. I was paired with a community leader from whom I could get some inspiration and a few blocks were generously given by three guild-mates to help me stick to the "community" theme.

The quilt is 60" square which I find to be the perfect throw size. I am proud to say it raised $525 last night!
