So far, so good

Still feeling the sock love! I wrote in the last post about knitting a pair of socks for a non-knitter. She picked the yarn and I'm knitting her some short Monkey socks. The pattern is great. There are several short pairs on Ravelry and they inspired me!

They aren't wonky in the heel although they look it in this picture. I don't have sock blockers - I normally try them on my feet. Since these aren't for me....that would be weird so a wire hanger it is! Now on to sock two!

As further proof that I am committed to socks:

More Three Irish Girls. This time it's Kells Sport sock yarn. This time the colorway is Cormac. No pattern ideas yet. What do you think?

Dee:

Whoooeee...that is BEAUTIFUL yarn. I think it needs a nice feminine pattern. Melanie's Twist might look nice.

I always wondered what a short cuff on monkeys would look like. Very nice!
Haven't heard of 3 Irish Girls. It's beautiful yarn, though.

Thanks for visiting my blog, and your nice comments on the socks!

Lovely socks! I enjoyed that pattern too. My sister saw the WIP on my blog and snagged them, so I need to make a pair for myself.

The other yarn is very muted and doesn't have loads of color variation, so it probably wouldn't overwhelm a lace pattern. You could do cables too, but I agree with Dee that it would look really nice in a feminine pattern... have fun picking one out. Picking the perfect pattern for a skein of yarn is one of my favorite parts of the creative process.
