July bee blocks and a giveaway!

Yep, I'm ready for my first giveaway! But first, let's look at July's blocks for Sew Bee Wonky.

Kandra chose solids in five different colors and asked for wonky square in square blocks. I usually like prints mixed with solids but when I see all of these blocks together in our Flickr group (linked above), I can tell it's going to make a really great modern quilt! I can't wait for her get them all together! My month is September so I'm busy collecting fabric to send to my bee quilters next month.

On to the giveaway! I'm placing my first order from KnitPicks next week. I've never ordered from them before but I have a gift card and am curious! I think I'm going to order several colors of their Palette fingering yarn to make my Dipped Infinity Scarf. Other than that I'm thinking about sock blockers or a book or something else. So for this giveaway, I will order the winner up to $15 worth of "stuff" along with my order. Whatever you want up to $15 - it could be yarn, books (I think their books are 40% off right now), patterns, etc. Don't worry about tax and shipping. I will take care of that. You just have to choose what you want if you win. I'll pick a winner from the comments on Sunday night so leave me a comment and then check back to see if you've won!

OOOOOH pick me pick me :P is this open to international people like me who can't get knitpicks stuff ordered as I live in the UK?? What a good giveaway :) I've heard good things from my American friends but alas! Not allowed to try it out :) thanks for the comment about my job, do hope I've got it though they didn't give me a call yesterday afternoon so I reckon it's a 'don't receive a call, not got the job' sort of dumb thing :(

Oh and I love the wonky square :)

Love KnitPicks! I went on Rav to check out your scarf pattern...it's beautiful, and looks great with that yarn. Thanks for doing a giveaway, it's fun.

Give away? Did I hear that right? :-)
I love your blocks. I wish I liked to quilt. I love quilts, but I don't like to make them. I have enough hobbies right?

How are you Paige? When are you coming for a visit?

Ooohh! Fun! I like knitpicks, but haven't ordered from them in a while.

Pretty blocks!

Amy:

I like the wonky squares a lot. Is it just as hard to make something that looks a little off as it is to get all the angles right? I just sent my sewing scissors to be sharpened in preparation for attempting to actually sew something soon!

In the meantime, I knit like a crazed thing. Im on a second pair of socks in as many weeks. Problem is, I think I'm going to frog the almost done Pomatomus and re-knit it on a size smaller needles. Oh well, it just means I get more pleasure out of the yarn, right?

I like the wonky blocks! I've never made any before...at least not on purpose. Makes me want to try!

ooh, I was just looking at knitpicks last week. I haven't used many of the yarns, but I love my needles.

Jane:

Hi, Thank you for your visit to my blog!! You came up as no-reply so that gave me a chance to visit you!! I love your July blocks. I have not started mine yet, I am a little nervous to cut the fabric!!!

Those wonky blocks are great! You are right, when seen together (I clicked your link to see everyone's blocks) I too can see how they would look great together. And you have inspired me to finally start thinking about starting a Hawaiian applique quilt for myself that I have wanted to do for several years. Can't wait to see how your blocks turn out!

and here's another really cool give-away I missed! I know exactly what I would have ordered too...i'm off to kick myself while i sulk in a corner.

Congrats to the winner/Amy.
