Baby Ruched Cardigan and a New Challenge

My sweet niece, Sophie is celebrating her first birthday in a few weeks. I went through my stash and decided to use some Knit Picks Stroll Tonal to make a Baby Ruched Cardigan.

So far, so good. This is my first experience with this yarn and it's a pretty nice yarn for the price. The color has some variation and depth and it's not too splitty.

My quilt guild is part of a challenge using the new Habitat line of fabrics. This line was designed by Jay McCarroll of Project Runway fame. I wouldn't normally pick these prints so it will be a nice way to stretch my skills a bit.

We're allowed to add solids but no other prints. I received 8 fat eights so I'll definitely need some more yardage to make something substantial. Thinking....

Oh my gosh ... what a CUTE cardigan. Can't wait to see yours all finished.

Those fabrics are interesting. They aren't colors you usually see together.

OMG! You are like a quilting machine! I love it! Have you used the longarm yet?

You always do such amazing projects!

at our recent guild meeting a gal brought a purse she had made from the habitat fabrics and i must say that it was awesome! she really worked her magic with those fabrics. best wishes in finding the right inspiration!
