My new favorite mittens!

A couple of weeks ago, I finished my new favorite mittens!

These were a test knit of Mandy's soon to be released Radio Frequency Mittens. I wear a lot of mittens. I teach third grade and take my kids outside to play every day. I stand outside at carpool duty year-round. I spent a total of 6 years living in Central New York. I know mittens.

This pattern was a fast knit with an easy to read chart. The fronts and backs are opposite in the main color and contrast color and because of the way the thumbs are placed, you can wear them either way. I personally prefer brown out on these. What do you think?

This pattern is being released with several other hat and mitten patterns in The Red Collection so check out the link for more info. I love the wide zigzag mittens and the hat with the fence on it! Of course, I will also need the hat to match my Radio Frequency Mittens.

And in case anyone is wondering.... yes I did don my J. Crew wool pea coat in North Carolina in July to take these pictures. They looked silly with shorts and a t-shirt! ;)

gorgeous. love the colors and the pattern!

Ah, pink and brown, one of my all time favorite color combos. Lovely work!

Dee:

I'm surprised you didn't expire from heat! LOL The things we will do for our blogs.

I like both sides -- Monday through Friday brown side up. But, Saturday and Sunday? It's all about the PINK!

GREAT mittens. Your friend made a great design and you executed it beautifully!

These are great mittens though I wouldn't want to wear them now.

Those mittens are lovely, and you can never go wrong with pink, in my opinion!

Dina:

Love the pink and brown...two of my favorite colors. I actually like mittens better than gloves. Cute cute cute!

Hey Paige,

these mittens are gorgeous!

what's your preferred method for handling yarn when knitting colourwork? i.e. do you use any thimbles or left hand, right hand...

ooh, I love these! I made Mandy's End of May mittens a while back and loved them. I might need these too.
